Cindy Jean
Cindy Jean is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Fresh Start for Women, a nonprofit transitional housing community in Owensboro, Kentucky. Established in 2016, Fresh Start provides safe, affordable housing and supportive services for women and children transitioning from addiction recovery, incarceration, or other challenging circumstances. Under Cindy's leadership, the organization has grown to house up to 16 women and 24 children, offering programs in budgeting, parenting, nutrition, counseling, addiction recovery, Bible studies, and life skills development.
In 2015, Cindy left her position at Frantz Building Services to fully commit to Fresh Start for Women. Her vision and faith have been instrumental in creating a supportive environment where women can rebuild their lives, pursue education and employment opportunities, and reunite with their families. Cindy is married to Shane Jean and is a proud mother and grandmother.
